Johnny “Hurricane” Welsh honed his musical career throughout the rock and roll 60s and 70s. His booming voice and effervescent personality made him a popular act in the pubs and clubs of Northern England, and as a warm-up singer for bands such as The Foundations (Build Me Up, Buttercup). Eager for new horizons, John moved to Canada, where he continued to perform as both a solo act and as the lead singer of several bands.

Invited to play at a Vaudeville-style fundraiser in Orangeville in 2000,  John playfully chose to do a tribute to Elvis, and the act was a hit! In the months and years following this success, John continued the act at various venues and competitions, including the Collingwood Elvis Festival (the largest Elvis competition in the world at the time!), placing in the finals twice. He performed across Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and in the U.S., delighting audiences with his music, costumes, props and antics that had the crowd singing, laughing, strolling (and dancing) down memory lane.

Always looking to refresh his act, John started exploring the music of the Legends. Armed with a new repertoire of songs and a new look, John is ready to return to the stage to share his love for everything rock and roll!
